Mom Hatfield,,,,,,,,Shame on you for saying your daughter is acting like a little kid. The truth of the matter is, Tara never did get the chance to be a kid. Never got to be somebody's little girl. This is where you come in, mom. And, with a few refresher courses, you may just find yourself with a brand new career. You might even like it. Thank you, Judge Dowling, for keeping the citizens of Haverhill just a little safer than they were last week-end. I don't live in your city, though I know many who do. That is a good piont that you make Sally Sue. Was she hit w/ a bat? I am interested in knowing what the lady who was looking threw the window has to say. If I remember right she said that she saw Tina throw her shoes of into the driveway, and went running toward Tara and it was Tina who threw the 1st punch. If that were all she was hit with it is highly unlikely that she would have fallen on her face. She would have had to be hit from behind and hard in order for her to be face down. Good observation!!

I am sure that Tara's x-rays will be submitted as evidence. The Dr.'s will know if she was hit with a hard blunt object or not, like a bat. Tina better be praying that this girls makes it. Doesn't sound too good. Even if she does make it, she will never be the same woman she was as of last week.
My question to the public is; why should Tina be set free to live her life freely as she so chooses, when Tara will never be able to live her life as she so chooses. This woman will always have some sort of brain damage. She most likely will not ever be a productive member of society again. She will be dependent on the State of Massachusetts for her welfare. Tina has not only robbed this young 33 yr. old woman of the wonderful life she may of had or would have had. She has also robbed her family , friends, and her young son of the person they once knew. There should be a price for that!

I know for a fact that Her mother has been sitting by her bedside daily.... and taking care of Taras son!!! I do not know either of the families and my oppinion is...

Tara should not have gone to someone else's house, especially intoxicated, looking for a fight. What did she think was going to happen? It is only because she suffered an injury that she is the victim. If it were the other way around, she would be the one in jail right now.

Muir is a mother- what was she thinking stepping outside her house and fighting with someone else? She should have set a better example. But maybe she felt like she was defending herself or her son? It is sad to see people making such bad decisions which in turn ruin them & their families lives.

I pray that Tara makes this out alive, and that she can overcome her injuries and live a long and healthy life. It is sad to hear about all these girls fighting (especially over men)

Muir should get a break. I am sure she is sorry for what she has done and did not intend to hurt Tara as much as she has.

It is very unfortunate that all the people on both sides are having it out online and cannot just pray for the families involved. Thank God I moved out of Haverhill ;)

Not only is it time to 'grow up', it is also time to be responsable for ones actions. Tara and her brother Shawn didn't deserve 'beat downs'....no one does. Violence is never the answer. I'm guessing from the paper that this woman Tina is well known by local police, and the police were at her home 20 min. before this incident happened, because there were many people outside of the home desturbing the nieghbors. This is not Tina's first run in with the law, and at 40..come on now, she knows better. If she doesn't then she too is brain damaged, what a pity.

Just so the record is straight...Tara was not fighting w/ Tina over a man. This wasn't about a 'brief relationship' that Tara had w/one of Tina's sons, that Tara was jealous over his new girlfriend. This was between Shawn and Todd. As most poeple who have siblings, we know that when one is in trouble we all rally around to help and protect that sibling. This was Tara's objective, to help her brother. Tina was drunk as was Tara and vicious words were spoken by both. There were many people there that night, it almost seems like a vigilanty. Tina is known for her outlandish , destructive, and violent behavior. It sure doesn't take much to get her take actin against you. She is a danger to society as well as to herself, her husband, her sons, and god help anyone who get in her way, as Tara did. Now she fights for her life. We should feel bad for Tina...NOT.
I hope and pray that Judge Dowling continues to serve justice, and let the people of Haverhill and surrounding communities that VIOLENCE IN HAVERHILL WILL NOT BE TOLORATED!

Well it seems to me that it was a set up to begin with. The cops were there 20 minutes before it happened because a bunch of people were out there on bikes and Todd was on the phone yelling at someone. Well I would say he was on the phone with Tara or her brother telling them to come to the house and then there was a bunch of people waiting to beat them down. So from my point of view this was a set up.

I myself am a 33 year old female and I know first hand that inguries while being drunk are very easy to come by even without someone hitting you.

When it comes to fighting people tend to think they are invincible and they are not.
I don't know any of these people in the story and I hope Tara gets better and Tina realizes the bad choice she made.
BUT... I don't think she meant to hurt this girl so severely. I am sure if Tara wasn't drunk she would not have feel so easily,

I have been following the comments. I have a few queestions? If tara and todd broke up a few yrs ago why was Tara still following him? Who was Todds new girlfriend?
Was Todds new girlfriend the one calling Tara at the bar that night? Was it the new girlfriend upsetting Tara. and told Tara to come to meet her to fight and when Tara did the new girlfriend got scared and Tina jumped in to protect the new girlfriend? It just sounds so strange to me why tra was after this guy Was the girlfriend jealous of Tara? I am sure once Tara is back on her feet She will have to give a statement to the police. It will be interesting to find out her side of the story.
I know at one point a comment said Tara was coming after the girlfriend not Todd. I think Tara was harrassed she had been drinking We all know we can get a bit more upset than usual when we are drinking. we do things we wouldnt do when we are sober. Some one was trying to upset Tara that night WHO???? One other thing I feel bad for both women is that they both have a long road ahead of them. Tina sitting in Jail and Tara sitting in a hospital bed. Lord knows how long for either. A brain injury is a long road. Tough situation. You can only fool with the law so many times before they have had enough it sound as though Tina was a frequent flyer with the police department. my prayer are with them everyday

I can tell you this the only people that were ther that night are either in jail or hospital and the ones that know what really happened. This was not Tara's fight, she never left the bar to go meet anyone or got to anyones house.That is straight lies. She was told her brother left to go take care of something and as Tara always does she looks out for the ones she loves not knowing what was going on. This s%^t never went down at the Muir house. Tina was never involvewd in any of the conversations held prior to her acting a fool. Bottom line is this her son thinks he's hard then runs when it comes time to act on his words or gathers a crew to fight his battles. He's a coward and his mother got caught up. Now she is gonna do time for her actions... Call Shawn what you want, but he wouldn't run from a gun if his sister was down never mind running from these fools that had a bat.

You all are CRAZY saying anything negative about the Paulette (Tara & Shawn's mom). I like Lisa D have known Tara very well for years! And her brother Shawn. I know they like to go out and have fun once in a while...but so do we all! Tara is a fabulous mother to her 13 yr old son! I know first hand he is an amazing boy with the manners of a saint! And wow if you only saw how he and his mother (tara) are around each other it would blow you away! They r closer than anyother mother/son team I know! I do know Tara and her mom have had some issues in the past! Who hasent?? I know I have with my mother too! Let that go! Her mother has been with Tara almost every waking second since this aweful tragedy happened. And when she is not she has Tara's son in hand trying to help him get through this considering the circumstances he is a MESS! As far as tara goes she is an upstanding citizen who works her tail off to soley support her son. You know his dad is not "father of the year" She is mommy and daddy in one and she works very hard to manage her rent.....bills.....food....and some luxuries in between. She was away with her son and some friends a few weeks back......not out getting smashed causing trouble! She is always with her son!!! BELIEVE ME!!
And for Johnathan Blackey Paquette you are a loser........wow you were so tight with shawn and tara for years and years! Now you have lost respect from everyone who has ever liked you dispite all of your convictions! That was an unfair act what you pulled in that courtroom! And you will regret the consiquences for your lying you scum bag!! And this is coming from someone who knows you farely well. Shame on you Jon! Shame on you! I don't know either family in this situation but have to wonder. It is my understanding that Tara was at a bar and went to Tina's house. There should be some accountability on her part for doing so. It seems there is dispute as to who threw the first punch, and also that the injury came not from the punch but from the fall. So, why was Tina held as a dangerous person when she was at home and the other woman came seeking trouble? Had Tina been hurt, would Tara have been charged for going to her home? My prayers go out for both families as clearly there is a lot of disfunction on both sides.

as far as all this goes.. the story of Tara being jealous, walking up mean and fast.. that sounds like the tara i know.. but to be on here bashing her mother is rediculous she had nothing to do with it.. She has been there for her daughter since this happened.. Taking care of Tara's son also. Then to bring in the father of the child saying "not father of the year" is ALSO REDICULOUS where was Tara last year when the son was living with the father? Dont let everyone make it seem like she is mother of the year because she is not. Her partying and friends come before her son. who always has him? Her mother. Tara was obviously looking for trouble when she went over there and PROBABLY called her brother for back up. Sounds like the Hatfields i know. they are drunken fools always getting into trouble when they drink. I'm sure she was calling and harrassing because that's what Tara does!!!

BUT this didn't need to happen and hopefully she can recover from this and put her priorities straight..
