Comcast is an awful company. DirecTV is cheaper, better quality, more selection, and the people are WAAAAY nicer and more empowered to make your TV viewing life happier. I'll NEVER switch back- not in a million years.

Comcast DID NOT take the Catholic channel away. EWTN is on 238 while BCTV is on 268,both FULL TIME.
FIOS is better but if you're gonna stay with Comcast,get a DIGITAL box!

Channel 238 and 268 is another 12.99 a month. (just for the 200 channels) Not sure where the channel was before, if it was a pay channel or an extra.

Those channels are part of Digital Starter. It's generally extended basic with a box. you only have to pay for the box. ($4)
FIOS is better but if you're gonna stay with Comcast,get a DIGITAL box!

I'm a happy Comcast customer. I've had internet since it became available in Andover back in '97 or '98? I switched my phone last year from ATT to Comcast and have been really impressed, kept my number, no loss in service at all. And I have a premium digital service (DVR, HD channels, HBO, etc). My monthly bill is ~$175/month and I gladly pay it. Never had a problem with their service (internet, cable or phone) and their service people that I speak with on the phone or come to my house are pleasant and get the job done. Never understood the complaints about Comcast, I don't see it.

Yeah Comcast is great. Move high traffic cable channels to another tier so people have to pay more to get what they want (ETWN, NFL-N) or just not offer channels that other carriers provide (ESPNU).
I have had both Comcast and DirecTv, I would take the dish any day. However, I cannot have it due to a nature reserve behind my house. When I moved two years ago and learned I could not have the dish I was heartbroken. The same package I had on DirecTv would cost me $35 more per month with DirecTv and I still would not get the quality nor the selection of HD channels I got with DirecTv.
Also, if I had to call DirecTv customer service, I got right through and had no issues. If I call Comcast, I get put on hold, get the run around and am told that someone will be out to see me in some three hour window, and they are never on time. I even called to add a package to my cable once, and the customer service person said it was not available. Well it was on the website! I had to walk the person through their own web site to find the package and then was on hold for almost 20 minutes before being transfered to a manager who said it was not available where I live. Unbelievable. When I move, it is back to DirecTv.

To the woman whho does not like Obama's stand on choice: You have your head in the sand if you think that NOT having a choice will stop abortions. It will only make women seek other options such as they did before abortion was legal. Many women were maimed or died from the back room procedures that were done by unqualified people.
Also, abortion is a PERSONAL choice and should not be a political issue.

Someone should reveal the dirty little secret about legalized abortion. That is that they are not all easy abortions and that just as many infections result from legalized abortions as not. Further abortions often result in the womon being unable to conveive when she wants to. The scarring from abortions often results in endometriosis. Abortion has become birth control for some young women who have no clue and don't care. Also abortions in this country can currently be done even through the second trimester when that fetus is a fully formed baby. Partial birth abortion has not been banned for fear that it will cut into a woman's right to choose. How barbaric is that!!!

No medical procedure is without risks. However, legal abortions are less risky than illegal abortions., which women will be forced to have if legal abortion is overturned. You may not understand this but before Roe v Wade, desperate women would use knitting needles or wire hangers to abort. Do you think this is better than having the procedure in a sterile environment with a trained medical doctor???
The percentage of infections, scarring, endometriosis and conception problems is low in legal abortion. It increases expotentially in illegal abortions.
I do not support abortion as birth control, which brings up other issues in pro-choice - birth control education.
Partial abortion, under certain circumstances, could be life saving. That, is not barbaric.

OK, where is the problem here? An empty classroom, 35+ children in AM and PM kindergarten, a brand new teacher. We all know what the problem is. It's a mayor who insists on approving every hire within the city. So what's the wait? Hire another teacher. Oh yeah, can't do that when he's on vacation. Tilton school is in serious peril. We are full to the gills and it keeps getting worse. Fiorentini has no great plan for the future. It's evident in the overcrowded classrooms where a teacher can't possibly be as effective as he or she should be. We have to live with it for now but remember this come the next mayoral race: No real plan for the kids' future= No Vote!

Comcast is horrible. They were always ripping the linings out of our pockets, taking away popular channels and forcing us to pay more and purcha$e another box. I am now a happy Verizon Fios customer. The FIOS picture quality is noticably better, and we are saving over $40.00 a month with the package!!!!

now that we have cameras almost all over haverhill waching the crimes areas, why not get rid of some police or give then part time jobs specialy for nite time when we needed must, we no longer need that many during day time;lets save that money for others important things.
