You certainly can whine and cry about that but dems the facts and as much as you denigrate yourself by using the "New" Republican strategy of calling me names, you can't change them to suit your argument.

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

Correction to my post: Obama already has the popular vote, but needs to win the electoral vote.

That's what I get when I mix two thoughts into once sentence. ;)

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

I don't agree and it's racist comments like this that continue anger and racist thinking. If Obama wins the popular vote and the electoral vote, he will be president. The "government" doesn't just walk in and nix the decision because he's non-caucasian.

The latest polls show that Obama is still ahead but his edge is narrowing. You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. (Sen D. P. Moynihan)
With Liberman (who is hardly a Democrat) the Dems hold the majority...without him they don't...and it is hardly a reasonable argument that the Dem's held the majority in any strategic sense given the fact that Liberman as his actions prove is basically a Republican -- His choice, althought it seems pretty dishonest to ask Obama to campaign for him when he needed his coattails and after he did now campaigns against him.

Silly Frank, ask your mom to read you a real newspaper once in a while, althought this is quite diverting knocking down such tripe. Now a True Republican (and true patriot) like Uncle Sam...that is a reasonable person I would truly enjoy debating the policies of true conservatives.

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

Conservatives have been in control for 30+ years..how did that help the economy, world relations, and energy policies?

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

As a Air Force Vet and a Conservative, I will be voting for Obama, and will be proud to do so!. I am sickened by the Bush/Cheney/McCain approaches to war and the economy. I spent most of my time overseas, and returned in 1998. I can't believe how far the right wing has destroyed the American Middle Class because of their desire for cheap workers and to force their brand of religion on everyone. They are the greatest part of the illegal alien problem too, as they are the ones that actually recruit them while they are still in their home countries. Yes, they actually place orders for how ever many they need, pay the coyotes to smuggle them in, and then employ them here. This has been going on at least since the 1980s when it was a great deal of Asians imported illegally to work in poultry and hog farms in the Deep SOuth and hispanics in the Mid West. In the North, we get the ones from Eastern Europe that blend in easier, and often work seasonally at summer resorts. I will be voting for Obama, and will be proud to do so!

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

JL,
Is that what you do? You go around discussion threads and when people bring up real issues about your candidate in an honest attempt to have a discussion you dismiss their evidence as nonsense.
You are a clown. And a transparent one at that. I did hear from a friend that would be considered Left that Mccain offered people "McCain points" to troll around websites and muck up the discussion.
Congratulations...on this thread alone you must have at the very least earned a McCain baseball hat.

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

So, you're saying that the fact that congress has approval ratings hovering around 8 percent is indicative of the fact that at one point more than a year ago, it had a lot of Republicans? Attempting to put backspin on their failed policies is one thing, but attempting to blame their failure to accomplish any of their campaign promises on those mean mean Republicans is ignorant and irrespective of the Democratic Party's own failure to run the Congress.

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

um, eve, the conservatives have been leading the country for the past 8 years and look where that has gotten us. Here is a quote from the commentary:
"Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a “fiscal conservative”. During her 6
years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over
33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the
City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation
(1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a
regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she
promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they
benefited residents."
Now, I answered your question...how about you answer mine?

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

Class based handouts- like tax cuts for the rich, right?

Hey Jeff, can you answer my question about McCain's plan to balance the budget?

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

Also-

When asked if she smoked pot...Palin as well as Obama indicated that they had as youngsters....your god...Bill, husband of Hill, said...I took a drag, but I didn't inhale....
Who is the liar? I want someone...anyone really...to tell me why they would vote for a ticket that included Sarah Palin when as mayor of her small town, she took a budget that had a significant surplus and, when she left a few years later, the same town was $20M in debt and still dealing with litiagation on issues she left behind, that may cost them even more. She didn't borrow the money to build a water treatment plant that the town lacked. She didn't use the money to develop a drainage system that would solve a long term problem. Gov. Palin built a sports complex that dispite her assurances of paying for itself, still is a financial drain years after she left that town. It is well documented that she did such a poor job the town forced her to hire an administrator.
There is a lot of name calling on this board but can anyone tell me why they would support this VP choice when confronted with these facts?
I don't want someone to tell me why not to vote for Obama, I am asking why someone would vote for Mccain with Gov. Palin as part of the ticker?

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

We have had a lying piece of $hit in the White House for the past eight years, we do not need another.

Re: Republicans should consider supporting Obama

Bush had experience.
