To be honest i think that all you people that say "oh you should just go to jail" or something immature like that is really dumb to say because i know both these guys very well and there really good kids and everyone deserves a second chance. Serously put yourself in this position..so if your going to say something ridiculous that just shut your face. I hope the best on baez and patel.

these kids made a mistake they are good kids and they deserve a second chance they are bright kids who made a wrong choice....give them a break

I am part of the methuen community and am well aware of who these two kids are; Neil P. and Brian Baez. These two are good kids who have made a bad mistake and everyone deserves a second chance. I can't even begin to imagine what these two and kids and their families are going through. I wish for the best for both of them. Hang in there.

I partially blame the families who rasied these boys. I am not saying that a person should NOT be responsible for his or her own actions. All I am saying is as parents, we need to be on top of what our kids are doing everyday. We need to communicate with them regularly and make sure they are on the right path. These boys have come this far, I can speculate that minor issues must have arised in the past but overlooked.

Wow, the lowest of all lows, stealing from family shows you have no morals, ethics, or sense of family values. Your 17 so your not exactly a child, and no one in your family will forget this. Your last names Patel so your indian, and most likely you come from a well off family. Instead you starting running with the wrong crowd and wanted to be cool by stealing from your family. So forget jail, probation, or whatever you get, the worst part of all of this is the lost of family trust.
