The strange thing is, I this family. They are the nicest, kindest parents a person could have along with loving siblings. That's who I feel sad for. His victims are scarred for life. You never know what makes a person do what they do. His life is over as he knew it. Is it enough? Probably not. He'll answer to a higher authority someday.

The headline here should not read - "Methuen man sentenced to 70 months in prison for child pornography" Instead it should be "Methuen scum/lowlife sentenced to too little time"

What a sick freak. I don't think you can blame the college here. Most of these guys are model people around others, and just sick weirdos behind closed doors.

He deserved a heftier penalty, no doubt. Just take solice knowing he will rot in hell.

A relative is a prison guard. From what I hear, guys who mess with kids get it the worst in jail. He'll have his share of beatings, and things rammed up his behind.

He's 23, and he ruined his life. His life is over. Sure, he'll get out of prison someday, but what will he do? He certainly won't be using his degree. I doubt any woman would want to marry a convicted felon who likes little kids.

I smell a suicide coming, and the world will be a better place for it.

70 Months? That is not right! Massachusetts lacks at protecting its victims. I was raped from the time I was 13-16, my rapist pled guilty he got 5-10yrs he was out in 5. He lives in Lawrence now, I work here, he was ordered to stay 100 feet away. Why is it that I am the victim but I feel like I have to move. 100 feet is not enough. He should be in jail

I notice there was also an article today about a former dean at Merrimac who was convicted of having child pornography. I believe it said he admitted to over 1,000 still and moving images. What the hell do they put in the water over there?

These people have no idea who they are talking about...If you don't know the facts, then leave your comments to yourself. This person never touched anyone. The story is wrong about Mexico. No evidence MEANS it didn't happen. Don't believe everything you read because it's usually not true if it is not proven.
I know this person and he would never even think of doing the things listed in this article.
So throw your anger out to another person. This person deserves some peace. Go after the ones CONVICTED of hurting someone!!!

Fot those of you who have no idea what you are commenting on, I would like to make a statement on behalf of this man. He is not guilty of the acts suggested in this article. People just like to blow up anything they hear into false stories to feed the controversy hungry people like you all. This man was a great person who did not do anything that was mentioned relating to Mexico. You have no idea who you are taking about or what is truth. There is no way in hell that I will not defend helpless victims and think more about the innocence of a "pig" who conversed and traded child pornography. This evidence was found on his home computer. You can check my computer all you want and you will never find such horrific and disgusting stuff like that. All these people defending the pig are the reason why these pigs think they are innocent.Because all they were doing was just looking at pictures of naked children not actually obligating a child to get naked. What their stupid mind will not let them see, is that they are predators and part of the crime as much as the person who originally compromised a child's innocence and took such indecent pictures.

Child Pornography is the lasting and permant record of the sexual abuse and/or rape of a child. Any image or video on the internet can be circulated millions of times over and over, causing a lifetime of damage to the victim. Once it is in cyberspace, it will never go away. This is a crime that is so horrific that "guilt by association" applies in all cases that someone "knowingly possesses or intends for others to possess child pornography..." (paraphrased from Federal PROTECT Act of 2003) I'm sorry, but unless you know some details you are willing to share on this case, this person had child pornography on his computer. I know if someone sent that to me, I would get rid of it right away and call the cops. And I am not a fan of the police paranoia state we live in.

So, unless there are some case-altering details unbeknownst to the defense attorneys and the jury, this guy got caught red-handed and thank God he will serve his punishment. (which will never compare to the pain inflicted on the innocent children in those images, not by a long shot.)

By the way, the 70 months is the Federally mandated minimum sentence for the first offense possession and/or pandering of child pornography.

I am a friend of his....What he did was not smart and i think he didn't realize what he was doing when he forwarded any pictures. That Google "hello" program has been removed from the internet and is under investigation. I think he made a terrible mistake going on to this site and participating..
Believe me when i say, he has to be real sorry for getting involved with this..Real sorry for hurting any children. I know he is a religious man, so he fill find his forgiveness with God....I know he will always be a friend of mine...he would never hurt a fly..
The people who know him agree he did a dumb thing, but we know, he is sorry and is paying for it..
