I agree that this campaign should not debate the merits of Paris Hilton but to also suggest that it shouldn't be about the merits of a Republican President who has presided for the last 8 years is just silly. If McCain had not tied himself so closely to the decisions of this administration voting 98% of the time with the President in votes where his vote would have a significant impact, then perhaps ignoring the President would make sense. To suggest the foolishness displayed by the McCain campaign by making an ad about Paris Hilton is the same as questioning a candidates' support of the policies of his party is disingenuous.
