Yeah of course you were trying to be quiet because the junkies who were BUYING the drug are from Methuen, and obviously white.. See, how things happen regardless of where you're from.. Whether you're hispanic, white, black, what ever other color there might be, there are categories of people in every race. SO before you discriminate people think about that first . I want to thank both the LPD and the tipster. This just goes to show that when the LPD is open to actioning the calls they get arrests are made and we get lowlifes off the street. If this got repeated even once a week the lowlifes would get the message in a couple of monthsand the lowlifes would begin to leave.
I think the LPD needs to be more community friendly by making it easier to make these tips. This starts with a customer (resident) friendly attitude when one calls the police.
Mr Lantigua has stated that he wants all city services to be more open and friendly to the residents it serves. I truly hope he can get all the city departments to take action on residents concerns and complaints. The first department should be police and not just on drug and violence tips.
I know many here do not like Shadowen. You need to listen to his story. He has tried over and over to bring complaints to the police. Loud partying, questionable actions, minor crimes, and genuine fear over things he has seen. Yet may of his calls have fallen on deaf ears at the LPD.
I hope Mr Lantigua sends a strong message to LPD that they must respond to all calls. What starts out as minor issues can and do escalate into major crimes.
This is not a criticism of LPD. In general I think they do a good job and the rank and file really do want to work hard and do the right thing. I guess my complaint is the leadership starting at the mayor and chief and the message they give to the guys on the street as to what is and is not important.
Mr Lantigua, follow up on your promise to make the city departments more resident friendly and we may even find Shad a smiling happy camper someday.

Police were monitoring the store Wednesday when a neighbor called the them to report seeing the suspicious Camry in what appeared to be a drug deal.

Yup. It took a call from a neighbor. Then they busted him. What the bleep is wrong with that??? Can't have 15 guys in seperate cars, if they were in cars, around the store. Maybe the monitoring police was on foot. Maybe he was wondering how some people are just never happy when they get the job done. Be grateful somebody was arrested for being a piece of trash who likes to sell crap.

That little store is bad news... if you think that was the only car you are out of your minds. Can we get investigators in to see what they allow you to purchase with food stamps as well. All that store has dones is make crime more visible in the sacred heart area.
