Windham representative leads fight against gay marriage
THE KISS ASS BRIDGE for the many times that manzi kissed pollards ass to get it. by the way is the bridge now open to everyone and is it safe to use it?
(sarcasm off)
I apologize.
What a beutiful tribute to "Mr. Roberge". Our hearts still go out to his whole family.
While there are those who choose to criticise this project, I am compelled to remind them that for many years there was a bridge in this same location when the mills were vibrant workplaces. The idea for re-creating this bridge began in 1978 with the first stages of revitialization of Methuen Square. The bridge, the park on Osgood Street and a riverwalk were all included in a master recreation plan developed while I was town manager.
The Roberge Bridge connects the entire Osgood St area to the town center. It is not just a connection for residents of the apartments. More foot traffic means more commerce and more tax revenue for Methuen. Once the area around Shardi's is developed everyone can see why this recreation of teh bridge over the falls is so central wo a better town center.
Thank you Frank Roberge for all you did for Methuen!
Bob LeBlanc
They named the bridge for Francis T. Roberge to give it a sense of ligitimacy for what the moneies and time represented.
Do you really think Frank would have wasted that money on a bridge to a liquor store or would he have put it to truly good use?
