True for one night's arrest report, but to then go off and say that "most of the protestors" are not of Ferguson is inaccurate. Most ARE from Ferguson and like many communities that are heavily minority, Ferguson did not enjoy a good relationship with its mostly white police force. I think the writer is probably correct. The unrest there runs deep and this is simply the latest issue, but by no means the one and only

We all share the outrage. However, vague calls for undefined "strong action" will only lead to future editorials that will claim that "strong action" has not been taken. We can airstrike these mutts as long as we wish, but when we kill someone who can technically claim that they are an "American citizen" please do not then squeal that the Administration has done so without "due process". When these lunatics surround themselves with schools and hospitals, as HAMAS does, please do not decry that the Administration is "killing innocent women and children". We should NOT put soldiers in the field and if we decide to risk arming the Shi'ites and Kurds, let's not complain if they lose that weaponry to ISIS on the field of battle, or if the local warlords we choose to arm change sides. Remain resolute and act as one nation. Let's not have tin horn Congressmen launch "independent investigations" designed to get their mug on the evening news. This isn't about politics. It's about America

Ferguson Riots: except that most of the protestors are professional leftist agitators from Oakland, NYC, and other places. Out of 73 arrests only 3 have been from Ferguson.

This may come as a shock, but there are currently multiple types of felonious secret court records, that'll never surface and have always been part of our American tradition.
For instance, there's the case where the defendant provides sufficient facts to prove innocence, but because of who they tangled with, were only offered a probationary period from the judge, granted the judge's hands were conveniently hogtied, prohibiting her with charging the prosecutor and alleged victim with perjury and making false statements.
Oh, and what about cases that actually happened but never reached court because they were deliberately left open, only to be hidden from public view ;)
The Haverhill, MA MCAS fiasco is such an example, it definitely sent truth down the wrong 'toxic' memory hole!

kids lie. that's just a fact of life.

i fear that charging this kid and then convicting him, or allowing him to plead out, will do much more harm than good to him.

and the idea that we can and should use him as an example to other kids is sheer foolishness.

kids don't learn from the example of others.

thinking of smoking and all the images of cancer we bombard them with, yet some of them still choose to smoke..

and in a couple months this boy will be forgotten by his peers and by younger kids.

Gee, I can do reasonably good impressions of LBJ, Richard Nixon and Elvis; will the local PD go dig up those graves to make sure that they are still there if those voices start making verbal threats over the phone because a bunch of people believed that is who it was?

Some good points Reg. I wrote an Editorial about a month and 1/2 ago pointing out some similarities but I also pointed the differences between these wars and past wars over the last 2 centuries and the big one is Military Occupation. The British been doing it for centuries The US had done that with Germany and Japan after WWII and look now. Both countries are now allies and are stable and economically flourishing. Even in S. Korea we've occupied that country and kept the Terrorists North out. In Afghanistan and Iraq our policy was to cut and run out of fear of another unpopular war like Vietnam. In Reality it usually takes 25+ years for a new nation to truly stabilize under military occupation due to inevitable attempted power struggles that usually result in crimes against humanity like we are seeing in Iraq and about to see in Afghanistan. Back in the day there were a different breed of leaders in the US calling the shots. They thought for the future and not for their current political agendas and party motives.

Another example of violent criminals walking in the Valley.... The Justice system is so politically corrupt here. Some of it's due to the race card upon requests to keep the peace while others are due to not making a race thing so they treat everyone here that commits a crime punishable by a fine, a restraining order, or supervised probation... The judges around here have been blinded by poor to average defense lawyers requests to do what they can dig up for loopholes that were once left open for only the rich and wealthy..... How much do the DAs make? Think about this for a while before you vote next time....

ultimately, the taxpayers, are out almost a 'Cool Million' and Willie
is still walking around or driving around down in the vicinity of his

Everybody
under the sun has appeared to have investigated Willie, yet he is still
walking around while Lenny Degnan is cooling his heels in Middleton.

is someone going to have the 'testicular fortitude' to actually drag
Willie's 'posterior' into court to attempt to extract some semblance of
justice?

While we, the taxpayers, will never recoup the money, a jail term might soothe some of the irate taxpayers.
