I am also thinking of the people. I am thinking o the people who were born in the US or who waited in line, entered legally and didn't cheat the system. I'm thinking about those people that did enter illegally and brought about lower wages through complicity with those who also broke the law and hired them without authorization to work. I'm thinking how the masses who are here legally and how their standard of living will be lowered in the coming years as another 30 million family members follow to join - both illegally and illegally. As for the United Nations - it is an abomination. It is as corrupt as the day is long. It has no legal authority and few really heed anything it has to say. Each member who voted on the language you quote - belongs to a nation that also enforces its own immigration laws. Unemployment stands at a minimum of 10 percent. That is also a reliable number. There are a lot of jobs that illegal immgrans hold that US citizens and legal residents would be more than willing to take. The immigration raid in Pottsville is indicative of that.

The problem is, for you to give your illegal aliens "rights", means taking rights away from other people, namely from native-born Americans. And as always, it is someone with a Spanish name who advocates for special privileges for other Spanish-surnamed foreign lawbreakers, at the expense of the native-born and non-Hispanic legal immigrants.

Once again we have an advocate who equates legal immigration with illegal immigration. Most Americans are pro-immigration, given that most have immigrant ancestors, but they are anti-illegal immigration. Just as they would be generous in giving to recognized charities but would frown on burglers entering their homes to steal their belongings. There is a big distinction here that seems to constantly be glossed over by people such as Ms Espinoza.

Has anybody thought deeply about the serious consequences of another illegal immigrant amnesty. Let's forget for the moment that suddenly 20 to 30 million people are going to be legalized? That Sanctuary states like California, New Mexico have been financially ridden hard into the ground, because illegal workers and their families are feeding at a gold mine of taxpayer money in government benefits. Let's not mention that since the 1986 Simpson/Mazzoli bill, those made legal, was able to bring into the United States their extended family members. That although they signed an affidavit to support them, many ended up at the the taxpayers expense. So let's slide to the side the expenditures to educate, offer free health care treatment and all the rest of hidden costs of subsiding a large portion of the US population. Well put, Lisette. I think we share a dream: documentation support and availability for all those who come to America. There are problems, yes, especially concerning the execution of such a system and the question of whom will receive such assistance. I do not think these insurmountable, even though they're quite complex. We must try.
