The Eagle-Tribune: Bailout for AIG swells to more than $150B

I have to say I'd be a bit surprised if something goes through Congress to help automakers. It couldn't possibly be popular with voters, though now that elections are over that won't be as much of an issue. Still, the auto industry isn't as important to the average American as the credit and financial markets, so I can't imagine at least some resistance. With regards to AIG - Liddy says that "AIG is in fact on the road to recovery." I should hope so - your company just got a sweetheart deal paid for by the U.S. taxpayers.

I wish this story shocked me! Sick of this crap. I own a small business thats been hit real hard this year (4 layoffs) we had a nine month savings for hard times and we buy 98% of everything with cash. Our savings is gone and business is still down. Where the hell is our bailout? We did everything right and had to layoff good hard working people. They dug the hole let them die in it! Or start giving the free money away to people who do things the correct way!

I think it's time to let these large irresponsible companies like AIG go down the tubes and start giving business to small businesses who are responsible with their money. This is the type of thing that happens when the big companies swallow the small ones and we all pay for their irresponsible behavior.

Instead of budgeting and coming up with realistic plans, these big corporate executives continue with their reckless spending. They'll never learn. People need to wake up and start supporting the small guys.
